Kim Kardashian can purchase engagement ring from Humphries: report
Kim Kardashian is going to have to pay up if she wants to rock on.
Kardashian, who filed for divorce from her NBA player husband Kris Humphries last week, reportedly had a clause put into her pre-nuptial agreement that forces for her to pay Humphries in order to keep her $2M engagement ring.
According to TMZ.com, sources close to Kardashian and Humphries say the reality TV star loved the 20.5 carat diamond ring so much that she inserted a clause that says if she wanted to keep the engagement ring, she must buy it from Humphries for the original purchase price in case the couple divorced.
If Kardashian had not inserted the clause she would have been able to keep the ring without handing over a dime, as once the couple married she would have become the ring’s owner.
Kardashian still reportedly loves the ring and will pay Humphries to keep it. It was never reported how much Humphries actually paid for the ring, but its worth is valued around $2M.
Kardashian filed for divorce from the former Nets forward after just 72 days of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The media frenzy following the highly publicized split caused Kardashian to go into hiding after leaving Australia early.
