Kanye West: ‘I’ll admit, I fell in love with Kim’

Kanye West appears to finally be coming clean about his rumored relationship with Kim Kardashian, as the two were spotted out on what looks like a 24-hour date in New York City.

West debuted his new song “Theraflu,” featuring DJ Khaled, last night on New York’s Hot 97. In the track, West raps, “And I’ll admit, I had fell in love with Kim / Around the time she had fell in love with him / Well that’s cool, baby girl, do your thing / Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team.”

The “Kim” in the song is, of course, believed to be Kardashian. The “him” West speaks of would then be Kris Humphries, who Kardashian married last August and filed for divorce from 72 days later. When West raps “I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team,” West appears to be referencing the fact that his good friend and “Watch the Throne” collaborator Jay-Z is a part-owner of the New Jersey Nets, the NBA team Humphries plays for.

As the song debuted, Kardashian and West were spotted out in New York City, going to see “The Hunger Games” together. According to TMZ, Kardashian was spotted leaving West’s building this morning, wearing the same clothes she wore out with him last night. They recently cropped up again, this time getting lunch at Serafina restaurant on the Upper East Side. TMZ reports that the two then headed to toy store FAO Schwarz.

Meanwhile, sources tell the site that the pair are in fact dating and “just starting” a possible relationship.

West’s ex, model Amber Rose, said in January that West and Kardashian had hooked-up around the time that West filmed a cameo on “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” in the fall of 2010. Rose said that their dalliance not only ended her relationship with West, but also overlapped with the end of Kardashian’s on-again off-again relationship with longtime love Reggie Bush.

“Kim is one of the main reasons why me and Kanye are not together,” Rose said. “She’s a homewrecker … They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other.”

This week, Star magazine alleges that Kardashian and West’s involvement lasted well into her relationship with Humphries, who she began dating in December 2010.

A source told the magazine, “Kris found out that Kim was cheating with Kanye West while they were engaged. She promised to cut-off contact with him, but she never did.”

Sources further alleged to the magazine that Humphries hoped to bring proof of Kardashian’s supposed infidelities to court in order to get an annulment from the reality TV star, rather than a divorce.

While West’s song stops short of saying that Kardashian was unfaithful to Humphries once their relationship got serious, the lyric “around the time she fell in love with him” does suggest that Kardashian had not cut off ties with West when she began dating Humphries.

Last month, Kardashian attended West’s runway show at Paris Fashion Week. She dressed in head-to-toe West designs and sat in the front row, even posing for photos with the rapper. However, she denied that the two had ever been romantically involved.

“We’ve been friends for years,” she said at the time. “We just support each other; that’s what friends do.”
