Miley unfollows Hemsworth on Twitter

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s troubled relationship might be finished, as the pop starlet unfollowed the “Hunger Games” actor on Twitter.

The potentially ominous online move took place this weekend, reports Radar Online, who were told by a source that the couple is “on a break.” Like many stars of her generation, the “Wrecking Ball” singer takes Twitter seriously, having amassed nearly 14 million followers.

Although the couple had experienced its fair share of difficulties since meeting on the set of the 2009 movie “The Last Song,” Hemsworth reportedly proposed to Cyrus last year.

“They’ve split for now,” an anonymous source the gossip site. “Miley and Liam have a very tumultuous relationship and both are exhausted. It’s a complicated relationship. The wedding is on hold, for now. It’s not cancelled but it doesn’t look promising.”

Tension between the two has been particularly high since the singer’s controversial MTV VMA performance with Robin Thicke in August. The twerk-filled mash-up of Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” and Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” shocked viewers around the country, and reportedly made the former “Hannah Montana” star’s beau reevaluate their relationship.

“Liam really does care about Miley, but her racy new look and sort of ghetto attitude isn’t exactly what he signed up for,” an unnamed friend of Hemsworth said last month.

Adding fuel to the speculation are reports that the younger brother of “Avengers” star Chris Hemsworth was canoodling with another woman at the Toronto film festival last week.
