Bieber released after search of ‘pot-reeking’ party jet

Bieber released after search of ‘pot-reeking’ party jet

Super Bowl-bound Justin Bieber arrived at a New Jersey airport Friday on a charted jet that reeked of marijuana — and he spent hours in federal custody while the aircraft was searched, law-enforcement sources said.

But the pint-sized pothead, who according to reports burns through $8,000 a week of weed, was released from custody at Teterboro Airport when drug-sniffing canine cops came up empty.

The teen heartthrob’s Gulfstream — with his father, Jeremy, and about 10 other party pals aboard — arrived at 2:53 p.m. from Toronto when federal Customs officials detected a strong odor of pot, sources said.

“He came in, the jet smelled like weed, they were doing preliminary security checks that they don’t usually do as Teterboro is usually pretty relaxed, but because of the ¬Super Bowl they’re doing more security checks,” a Teterboro source said.

“There was a big stir at the airport.”

The plane, with a crew of three, was held until cops and their canines could conduct a thorough check.

Bieber, 19, was taken to a Teterboro holding area while the searches were under way, sources said.

A Customs dog and one from the Port Authority Police signaled there was marijuana in two pieces of luggage, the sources said.

But no cannabis was found, the sources added, and Customs officials allowed Bieber and his entourage to depart.

The airport source said the pilot may have tipped off cops about pot smoking on board because Customs was waiting when the jet touched down.

The “Baby” singer had chartered the jet to attend Sunday’s Super Bowl and pre-game festivities.
Customs officials would not comment.

At 9:15 p.m., he and his entourage showed up in two Cadillac Escalades at the Four Seasons Hotel on East 57th Street, where a crowd of about 50 squealing teen female ¬“Beliebers” were waiting.

The jet incident comes after Toronto cops on Wednesday charged Bieber with assault for allegedly hitting a limo driver on the head.

He already is facing a Miami DUI pot case and remains under investigation for alleged vandalism in California.

In the Miami case, a toxicology report showed Bieber tested positive for pot and the anti-anxiety drug ¬Xanax after his Jan. 23 drag-racing bust.
