Gwyneth’s latest role? Loving mom in blatant charm offensive

Gwyneth’s latest role? Loving mom in blatant charm offensive

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s toughest role yet might be convincing the public she’s just a regular mom.
Following backlash over Paltrow’s recent comments about working moms, the actress appears to be on the charm offensive.
On Thursday, she posted a heartwarming photo of she and her two children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 8, embracing. “#TBT #luckiestmomever #exumas,” she captioned the tweet. (Exumas is the Bahamian district where Paltrow, her soon-to-be ex-husband Chris Martin, and the children reportedly vacationed while news broke of the couple’s split on March 25.)
In an interview conducted before she announced her separation from Martin, 37, Paltrow lamented her struggles with parenting in Hollywood.
When asked about her future plans, Paltrow, 41, told E! News, “So I have to go back to mommy … I have a rule about one movie a year, so I can’t shoot anything for a while, but I’m developing some material and working on the site [Goop] and raising kids.”

“It’s much harder for me,” she continued. “I feel like I set it up in a way that makes it difficult because … for me, like if I miss a school run, they are like, ‘Where were you?’ I don’t like to be the lead so I don’t [have] to work every day, you know, I have little things that I like and obviously I want it to be good and challenging and interesting and be with good people and that kind of thing.”

She continued, “I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set.”
It’s the second family-focused snapshot Paltrow has shared in recent weeks.
On April 8, she posted a photo of herself hugging Moses. “Moses Bruce Paltrow Martin turns 8 today. We love you!” she wrote. Predominantly featured in the image was Paltrow’s wedding band, although it was unclear when the photograph was taken.
