Bieber detained for 4 hours at LAX
Things don’t seem to be working out too well for Justin Bieber lately.
The Canadian pop singer has hit a snag while trying to re-enter the US after a break overseas, where he offended almost an entire continent by posting an insensitive photo of his visit to a Japanese war shrine.
Bieber was detained at LAX airport for nearly four hours by US Customs officials after touching down on an Air Singapore flight from Tokyo.
“Justin was held up upon arrival while his bodyguards and his luggage were waiting outside for him,” a source close to Bieber told the Daily Mail. “He went through routine secondary questioning but has now been released.”
His entourage waited outside the airport along with some loyal Beliebers who had gathered outside LAX to show their support.
Sources close to Bieber told TMZ the 20-year-old received a “secondary” customs search, which includes questions about his recent criminal activity, including his DUI arrest in Miami and the egg-throwing incident at his LA mansion.
TMZ reports this kind of questioning is normal for travelers with a record like Bieber’s.
