Mariah Carey orders Nick Cannon to keep quiet about split
You won’t be hearing much from Nick Cannon about his split from Mariah Carey.
After confirming he and Carey, 33 and 45, are no longer living together on Thursday, Carey has allegedly ordered her soon-to-be ex-husband not to speak about the split, TMZ reports.
The website adds the ill-fated couple has already ironed out a confidentiality agreement preventing Cannon from talking. If Cannon talks, he’ll be forced to pay financial penalties. The agreement also says that Carey can announce the breakup when she’s ready.
The “America’s Got Talent” host was spotted by TMZ cameras in New York City Thursday and instead of responding to questions, he opted to keep quiet — perhaps an approach he should have taken in March when he shared he slept with Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger, Selita Ebanks and Kim Kardashian.
Cannon’s public admission to sleeping with Kardashian reportedly humiliated Carey and the relationship never recovered.
The couple began showing signs of trouble back in April after skipping their annual vow renewal ceremony. At the time, Cannon denied reports there was trouble in paradise.
Carey and Cannon married in 2008 and have two children, 3-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott.
