Justin Bieber arrested on dangerous driving and assault charges

Justin Bieber arrested on dangerous driving and assault charges

Justin Bieber has been arrested for yet another driving incident.

The “Beauty and a Beat” singer, 20, was taken into custody Friday afternoon in Perth County, Ontario, after his ATV collided with a minivan, TMZ reports.

Police also told the website that after the crash, there was a physical altercation between Bieber and the driver of the car.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police statement (via E! Online), “He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on September 29, 2014, to answer to these charges.”

Bieber and his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Selena Gomez, 22, were on vacation together near his hometown of Stratford, Canada, when the incident occurred.

“Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi. This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault,” Bieber’s attorney Brian Greenspan told E! News in a statement. “Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved.”

A few days before his brush with the law, Bieber vented about his problems with the paparazzi on Twitter.

Bieber listed the tony Los angeles suburb of Calabasas as his current residence.

“Officers responded to a collision between a minivan and an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Line 40 east of Road 106,” reads a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police report. “Investigation revealed that after colliding, the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation.”

The arrest comes a little more than six months after his last driving-related charges in Miami, and the singer is also still on probation for two years after egging his neighbors’ mansion.
