Martha Stewart pokes fun at Gwyneth in magazine
Martha Stewart‘s not going to let this one go.
The domestic doyenne fueled her ongoing feud with actress-turned-lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow in the November issue of Martha Stewart Living.
The issue features a six-page spread on traditional food pairings titled “Conscious Coupling” — a not-at-all-subtle dig at Paltrow, who referred to her split with ex Chris Martin as a “conscious uncoupling.”
As if that weren’t bad enough, the spread’s intro makes reference to couples that stay together despite their differences (via Salon):
Every Thanksgiving table should be blessed with the presence of a long-married pair who bring out the best in each other, are completely enamored despite their differences, and leave every other guest thinking, I’ll have what they’re having. Our holiday pies honor such so there’s a pleasant mix of textures and flavors in every bite. No matter how you slice partnerships, each spotlighting the perfect marriage of crust and filling these six irresistible desserts, there is a whole lot to love.
The obvious shade-throwing is the latest chapter in the spat between the two women.
“She just needs to be quiet. She’s a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart,” the television personality told Porter magazine last month.
Weeks later, Paltrow announced the hiring of former Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia chief Lisa Gersh to be the CEO of Goop, the actress’ website.
Paltrow said she’s “psyched” that the domestic goddess views her as competition.
But the “Iron Man 3” actress isn’t the only aspiring lifestyle expert to draw Stewart’s ire: In August, she called Blake Lively’s attempt to build a lifestyle brand “stupid.”
