Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey keep things normal for their kids
Despite going through a breakup with Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon says life hasn’t changed for their 4-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott.
“They love mommy, they love daddy,” Cannon, 34, told “The Meredith Vieira Show” in an interview set to air on Friday (via E! News). “Being the fact our situation, we have always been people who have been on the go coming and going, their life hasn’t changed one bit. We spend holidays together, we do everything that we are supposed to do together as a family.”
Carey, 44, has been keeping a close eye on the kids while on tour in Asia.
Cannon says it’s not easy dealing with personal issues in the public eye, referring to the constant media speculation on his marriage. “The media, they can say whatever they want to say and obviously, because you are not giving them anything, so they kind of create all these stories and make it worse than it actually is,” the “America’s Got Talent” host explained.
As for one of the stories making the rounds that Cannon finds ridiculous? “I heard there’s a family dispute over our eight dogs. It’s the Jack Russell puppy dispute,” said Cannon. “They just make up all of those things. It’s truly staying focused on family and what’s right and getting through these times and doing what’s right for the kids, so that’s just where we are.”
