Rockets not included: Thieves snatch cars designed for new Bond film

James Bond’s cars have been shaken.

In October, nine cars were stolen from Range Rover headquarters in Neuss, Germany, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Five of the stolen vehicles, Range Rover Sports models, were designed specifically for the new Bond film, “Spectre,” starring Daniel Craig. The remaining four were unidentified luxury cars.

The total value of the stolen cars is near $1 million.

“This is a criminal act and the police are carrying out a full investigation,” Land Rover UK said in a statement, says The Daily Express. The German police have no leads in the crime.

The specially modified trucks were scheduled to be sent to the Alps for shooting, which began last week with a kickoff media event announcing the film’s cast and more. “Skyfall” director Sam Mendes will direct the new action flick.

Worried fans can rest easy: The official Bond car, an Aston Martin DB10, was not involved.

Production for the fall 2015 film will not be affected by the heist.
