During his “Saturday Night Live” performance of “Wolves” on Sunday, Kanye West debuted a pair of blue contacts — and wife Kim Kardashian got in on the look, too.
Kardashian, 34, captioned a stoic snapshot of her husband “Wolves” on Instagram.
“Wolfie,” she titled another shot of herself where her false eyelashes accentuate her bright blue peepers.
But before West showed off his baby blues on stage, the couple visited Dr. Mitchell Cassel at Studio Optix to create the memorable gaze.
“We got a call from Kanye’s assistant that they wanted contacts for his performance, but we didn’t know that Kim would be with him,” Cassel told Page Six. “[Kanye] came in and gave us a couple ideas of what they wanted. We fit him for lenses, we had some options which he liked. Kim was intrigued by the color herself, so she was part of the decision process.”
While the duo’s hand-painted lenses were for cosmetic purposes, Cassel and his team also often make corrective lenses for scarred or damaged eyes to create a symmetrical look.
To celebrate 40 years of the sketch comedy show, West, 37, was joined by Sia (who once again managed to shy away from the camera, this time shielding her face behind a massive wig) and Chicago rapper Vic Mensa for a bizarre performance of the track from his forthcoming album.
At one point during the medley, which also included “Jesus Walks” and “Only One” (his track about daughter North West), the “Yeezus” artist lay on his back while singing into a microphone positioned above his mouth.
But it wasn’t all serious for West, who got in on the fun when he joined a “Wayne’s World” skit with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey.
