Google co-founder Sergey Brin finalizes divorce
Google co-founder Sergey Brin and his 23andMe founder wife, Anne Wojcicki, have officially called it quits after eight years of marriage.
The divorce was finalized in a Santa Clara County, Calif., court in May, while details of the couple’s financial settlement were not released.
The power pair’s relationship broke down after Wojcicki, 40, found her husband was having an affair with a Google Glass marketing manager in her mid-20s named Amanda Rosenberg.
Wojcicki first discovered emails in late 2012 or early 2013 between Brin and Rosenberg that “caused her to feel alarm,” according to Vanity Fair. It wasn’t long before Brin had moved out of the family’s $7 million Los Altos, Calif., home.
Brin, worth an estimated $30 billion, appeared to prefer the life of a playboy tech tycoon while Wojcicki comfortably fell into the role of mother to their two young children.
“Instead of just being a Google founder, Sergey was suddenly awesome, a cool person, a performer — a celebrity,” a friend of the couple’s told Vanity Fair. “And he was like, ‘Wait a second — I’m doing all this cool stuff, and then I have to come home and change diapers?’”
