One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is going to be a dad

Louis Tomlinson is heading in a new direction: fatherhood.

The One Direction singer is expecting a baby with stylist Briana Jungwirth, reports People. They reportedly are not in a relationship.

“Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer,” a friend of the duo told People.

Tomlinson’s rep declined to comment.

The 23-year-old boy-band member met Jungwirth through mutual friends earlier this year and since then has been spotted on dates with her. Meanwhile, Tomlinson and his longtime girlfriend Eleanor Calder confirmed their split in March after four years together.

The insider told People that Tomlinson will be a “hands-on dad” and has even been looking at properties in Los Angeles, where the expectant mother is based.

“Louis and Briana care about each other very much and have spent a lot of time together privately over the last few months,” the source said. “They are both really happy and although they aren’t in a relationship, their friendship is extremely strong and they are both really excited about the baby. It’s early days and Briana and the baby’s health are the most important things right now.”

The friend insisted that Jungwirth is not interested in Tomlinson’s One Direction fame.

“Briana is a really lovely girl. She’s very private and most of the time they spend together is out of the public eye, just hanging out with their friends.”

The baby is due early next year.
