Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj end feud with VMA duet
Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift are ending any “Bad Blood” still floating around.
The singers surprised VMA viewers when Swift came out on stage to perform one of Minaj’s songs with her, “The Night is Still Young,” before jumping into a verse of Swift’s “Bad Blood.”
The pop stars’ tiff started after the VMA nominations were announced and Minaj was offended that she wasn’t nominated for Video of the Year.
“When the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records . . . they get that nomination,” she wrote, adding, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”
Swift, whose video was nominated, jumped on the offensive, saying, “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..”
Minaj then clarified that her comments were not directed toward Swift. “U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much,” she wrote.
“If I win, please come up with me!! You’re invited to any stage I’m ever on,” said Swift, apologizing for misunderstanding the tweet.
At the end of their VMA duet Sunday night, the pair hugged it out, putting an end to feuding rumors for good.
