Lamar’s condition continues to improve, tells Khloé ‘I love you’

Lamar Odom — recovering from a scary booze-and-hooker binge — told his estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, “I love you” on Monday, the hoops star’s one-time coach said.

Odom also said “Good morning” to the reality TV star before drifting back to sleep in the ICU of Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, his former University of Rhode Island coach Jim Harrick told CNN’s “New Day.”

“We’re more hopeful now” that Odom will recover, Harrick said.

Harrick, who coached UCLA to the 1995 national title, was at URI for two seasons between 1997 and 1999, taking his Rams to the NCAA Tournament in both campaigns. Odom was the team’s leading scorer in 1998-99.

“We’ve been on pins and needles for days,” Harrick said of himself and other Odom loved ones.

Odom’s maternal aunt JaNean Mercer also said Monday that the former Los Angeles Lakers star is on the mend.

“Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible,” Mercer said in a prepared statement. “These past few days are no different.”

Odom’s family has rallied around the seriously ill basketball player, she added.

“We are committed to remaining by his side as a family for our champion, who we love immensely,” Mercer said.

Odom is “defying the odds in his toughest battle to date” with “God’s grace,” his aunt added.

The 35-year-old retired NBA star, and estranged husband of reality TV figure Kardashian, has been hospitalized in Las Vegas since Tuesday, when he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nev.

He’d arrived at the brothel on Oct. 10 and stayed in a luxury suite while partying with house talent.

Odom got married to Kardashian back in 2009. They’ve since signed divorce papers, but the split was never finalized, so she still has control of his key medical decisions.
