‘Celebrities don’t get looked at as credible’ in fashion: Rihanna
Rihanna says celebrities are at a disadvantage when launching fashion lines as they “don’t get looked on as credible.”
On Friday, a day after Kanye West’s album and Yeezy fashion range launch at MSG, Rihanna released her Fenty x Puma fashion line.
She said of being a celeb, “There are advantages and disadvantages. With the disadvantages, a lot of times celebrities don’t get looked at as credible when it comes to the fashion world, so I am coming into this in a very humble manner. And I just think that I do have a broad fan base that I can expose to the work that I create, but it’s up to them to love it. So the advantage is getting the eyes on what I want to do. The challenge is it being credible.”
Naomi Campbell, Chris Rock, Jeremy Scott, Ne-Yo and Pete Wentz all took in the show at a Wall Street venue.
