Erin Andrews settles peephole lawsuit against hotel owner
Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews has now completely settled her multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the hotel owner and operator that allowed a stalker to secretly record her naked through a peephole.
“This litigation is over,” said her lawyer, Randall Kinnard, who represented her. “Erin Andrews is satisfied with the settlement, the terms of which are confidential.”
In March, a Nashville jury awarded Andrews $55 million, with jurors saying 51 percent — or $28 million—should be the responsibility of the man who filmed her and 49 percent coming from West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group, the hotel owner and operator.
But since Kinnard assumed that the unemployed stalker, Michael Barrett, wouldn’t be able to cough up anywhere near his debt, the lawyer went back to court and requested that a judge make West End and Windsor Capital responsible for the entire amount.
The threat, alone of such a ruling was apparently enough for them to settle before the case went to court again.
