Nick Cannon denies holding up Mariah Carey divorce

Nick Cannon swears he’s not delaying his divorce from Mariah Carey.

“She’s such a beautiful spirit,” the “America’s Got Talent” host, 35, told Extra on Thursday. “We put the kids first and that’s all we care about. We get along great despite of all the rumors out there. There’s nothing to tell,” he insisted. “It’s a process, nobody’s holding nothing up. Why would I do that?”

Rumors swirled last week that Cannon refused to sign off on his divorce from Carey, 46, delaying her impending nuptials to billionaire James Packer because he couldn’t bear to let her go, an allegation Cannon denies.

The pair’s split, initiated in 2014, has been somewhat amicable, with the couple spending holidays together with their 5-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. Still, the breakup has had contentious moments, like when Cannon’s custody talks kept Carey from rehearsing for her performance at the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting.

Still, the funny man insists, “I want her to be happy. I want everyone to be happy.”
