Were Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston photos staged?
When pics surfaced this week of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston (a.k.a. new couple Swiddleston? Hiddleswift? Fiddlesticks?) on a Rhode Island beach after her breakup with DJ Calvin Harris, some speculated that the intimate images could’ve been a setup.
One paparazzo told Cosmopolitan, “My first instinct when seeing the pictures of Taylor and Tom is that they are definitely staged.”
He added, “If it’s a huge news story, you always have to wonder, don’t you?”
A brand even plugged the supposedly secret hookup with an e-mail blast crowing, “Tom Hiddleston was spotted out on a beach in Rhode Island . . . wearing Aquatalia’s Ace shoes.”
But the idea that Hiddleswift’s stolen romantic moment was manufactured to promote fashionable footwear was perhaps dashed when we noticed that English actor Hiddleston has worn the exact same pair of gray suede boots for the past four months — not just to the beach with Swift, but at Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia, LAX airport, on the streets of London, to an AOL Q&A, at the Tribeca Film Festival, at a SiriusXM interview and more.
Said a spy, “He has one pair of those shoes that he’s been wearing since March. Clearly, he’s just very English. And very good at keeping his shoes clean.”
The boots were on sale yesterday on the brand’s site for $297.50. Swift, said to be worth more than $200 million, could shell out for a few more pairs for her new beau.
