Justin Bieber got to stay in a Hamptons mansion for free
Justin Bieber was willing to pay “anything” to stay at famed Hamptons megamansion Sandcastle, but the 26,500-square-foot property — which has rented for $550,000 for a two-week stay — was no longer available. Instead, the home’s owner, millionaire Hamptons house-builder Joe Farrell, gave The Biebs another mansion — free of charge.
“Justin wanted that Hamptons house as a hub for 12 nights while he was performing in the area,” said a source. “He offered Joe all kinds of money for Sandcastle.” It has previously been rented by Jay Z and Beyoncé for a month, as well as by a Tampa divorcee trolling the area for a rich husband. Plus, it has a Bieber-friendly basketball court, half-pipe and bowling alley.
But Farrell “loaned Bieber’s team another house,” said the source. “Their minds were blown, because he didn’t ask for any money.” The place would usually go for $80,000 a week. Grateful Bieber then invited Farrell and his daughter, 12, to his show in Hartford, Conn.
A few days later, Bieber dropped by Farrell’s house in the Hamptons and treated the family to a private performance. “He went over there to hang out and ‘be normal,’ ” said a source. “He worked out in their gym, played piano and stayed for dinner.” Bieber debuted an unreleased tune for Farrell’s daughter and helped clear the table. “Joe and his wife had heard the stories, but [Bieber] was so polite and respectful. Joe’s wife was like, ‘You can come for dinner every night!’”
Farrell then flew The Biebs on his private jet to the star’s Atlantic City, NJ, concert, spies said. Bieber invited Farrell and his daughter to a backstage dinner.
Rumors began buzzing around the Hamptons that Farrell had paid Bieber $1 million to visit his home. But a pal said, “Joe got way more than a $1 million experience for Justin to come over.” Farrell told us, “He couldn’t have been sweeter, more respectful and more normal.”
This isn’t the first time Farrell’s let a star crash for free, sources said. Madonna once stayed at one of his houses, and she repaid the favor by hiring him to build her Bridgehampton mansion.
