French cops think thieves were tipped off by Kim’s security
French police have serious questions about how Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint while home alone in Paris, and suspect it is an inside job.
“French police suspect that the five alleged robbers had some contact with her security and were tipped off about her procedures,” says the source. “They knew there was no security [with her inside her apartment that night]. All they had to do was go in, make contact with someone inside the hotel. They have issues with story of more than one worker at the hotel. They are also talking to bodyguards who worked with her earlier in the week.”
According to the source, one or more of the armed robbers could have been a bodyguard who had protected her before in Paris. Her current bodyguard, Pascal Douvier, who was protecting her sisters Kourtney and Kendall at the time, has been questioned but is not under suspicion.
They also believe that the concierge who was tied up may have been to throw people off. “They did some things that were so unprofessional it seemed like a show,” says the insider.
The men first entered the building and tied up the concierge, reportedly demanding to know which was Kardashian’s apartment. They then burst into her apartment, bound her up with tape, gagged her, and locked her in a bathroom.
They then escaped on bikes and on foot with jewelry worth more than $9 million including a ring, multiple cellphones, a wallet and credit cards.
We’re told that much of the incident was caught on hotel security cameras — the men in the lobby and hallway – and that cops are checking the phone records and doing investigations of hotel employees and bodyguards she’s been working with.
Steve Stanulis, Kardashian’s former bodyguard, earlier today told Page Six that Kardashian, 35, should be more careful on social media. “Kim’s social media and her Snapchat is her undoing. When she is posting, ‘Here I am, and this is the $5 million ring I am wearing, here’s where I am going,’ you are basically inviting someone to rob you.”
The Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills, which is run by former police officers and Navy SEALs, said Kardashian urgently needs much stronger security measures as she documents her life on social media.
International & special operations director Richard Davis tells us, “You need to rent the room on the right and a room on the left. Plus men in the hallway and the elevator who will stop people and say, may we see your room key please. Now, they’ll meet in the lobby or hallway and that’s their pickup and dropoff point and the bodyguards go back home. We’ve been warning them for years.”
