Kim Kardashian’s new mantra: If you got it, don’t flaunt it
Kim Kardashian plans to dial back on social media postings highlighting her fabulously affluent lifestyle, following this week’s scary, apartment-invading holdup in Paris, sources close to the media figure told TMZ.
Kardashian, 35, has come under fire – most notably from designer Karl Lagerfeld – for allegedly putting herself at risk by showing off her wealth.
She actually agrees with her critics, sources close to the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star told the online gossip site.
She’s reportedly decided to take a break from social media before coming back in a less-ostentatious and self-aggrandizing style.
The famous-for-being-famous Kardashian has 48.3 million Twitter followers – putting her No. 11 in the world, sandwiched between No. 10 Justin Timberlake and No. 12 Britney Spears.
She hasn’t tweeted since the robbery early Monday morning. Many of her past postings flaunt jewelry or her vision of high fashion.
A Sept. 29 tweeted picture of her stolen $4.5 million engagement ring got 15,000 re-tweets and 43,000 likes.
