Mariah Carey and James Packer’s romance was ‘a sham’

Diva Mariah Carey won’t leave home without her hair and makeup looking picture-perfect, an effort that costs upwards of $10,000 per session — and just part of her outlandish spending habits that drove fiancé James Packer away, sources told The Post on Thursday.

“The relationship was always a sham — it was all about one thing … money, money, money, money,” a source said.

Also fueling the split is that Carey had “some sort of rendezvous” with a dancer in her Las Vegas show — and it was caught on video during the taping of her upcoming reality series, sources told TMZ.

At the same time, TMZ is reporting that Packer, an Australian casino mogul, did “something really bad” involving Carey’s assistant during a recent vacation in Greece. Carey reportedly left Greece in the middle of the vacation and hasn’t seen or spoken to him for more than a month.

Carey and Packer haven’t publicly commented on the split yet. The pair had been together since June of 2015, and got engaged in January.

Packer is reportedly letting her keep the $10 million diamond engagement he gave her.
