Nick Cannon welcomes son and names him after a color

Nick Cannon is a dad for the third time.

Cannon and ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell welcomed their son Golden “Sagon” Cannon into the world on Tuesday.

The star shared the news on Instagram the next day with a sweet photo and the caption, “Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning! No matter how hard the world may hit you, God always reminds us of our purpose! #TrueHappiness Welcome to Earth Son! Golden “Sagon” Cannon 2/21/17 #Awakened.”

If the first part of that text sounds familiar to fans of Cannon’s ex-wife Mariah Carey, it’s because the songstress used those words — as spoken by a pastor — in her song “Fly Like a Bird” off her 2005 album “The Emancipation of Mimi.”

Cannon, 36, and Bell, a former Miss Arizona USA, have dated on and off since he split from Carey in 2014. Carey and Cannon share 5-year-old twins.

Cannon’s news of his bundle of joy comes in a period of turmoil for the comedian. The star recently announced that he’s leaving “America’s Got Talent,” and in December he was in the hospital after suffering a lupus setback.
