A-Rod gushes about J.Lo, calling her an ‘amazing girl’

Alex Rodriguez has officially confirmed his new relationship with Jennifer Lopez.

“It’s obvious. We’ve been having a great time,” the former Yankees slugger gushed Friday on “The View.” “She’s an amazing, amazing girl. One of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother.”

Page Six reported in early March that Rodriguez, 41, and Lopez, 47, are an item. “They are really into each other because they have so much in common — from their Latin roots, to their love of New York, and their kids,” a source said at the time.

Rodriguez shares daughters Natasha, 12, and Ella, 8, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, while Lopez is mom to 8-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

While the new pair have taken their romance to exclusive locales, jet-setting to a high-end and owners-only destination in the Bahamas and to the Yankees’ spring training facility in Tampa, Fla., Rodriguez said his glamorous gal pal isn’t a diva behind closed doors.

“She just likes the simple things,” he said of the Bronx-born singer. “I mean, she’s a very, very simple person. Loves family. Is a great sister. Is a great daughter.”

He also called her a “big Yankee fan.”

Though J.Lo is in tip-top shape, Rodriguez revealed even she likes to indulge every once in a while.

“She would kill me if I say too much,” Rodriquez quipped when asked about her guilty food pleasures. “Chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.”
