Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka call it quits
Mimi has been emancipated from her boytoy.
Mariah Carey has kicked backup dancer Bryan Tanaka to the curb, TMZ reports.
Sources told TMZ that Carey, 47, and Tanaka, who turns 34 on Tuesday, fought over Carey’s close friendship with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
The “I Don’t” singer and the former “America’s Got Talent” host attended the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards together last month with their 5-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The pair also frequently vacation and party together, occasionally without the tykes in tow, much to Tanaka’s chagrin.
The site reports that Tanaka would openly flirt with other women in front of Carey to try to retaliate against her and Cannon’s amicability.
Another point of contention? Tanaka reportedly wanted to always be Carey’s sugar baby: Carey is said to have grown tired of paying for his designer duds and jewelry.
The elusive chanteuse felt she was being used for her cash and connections in an effort to boost Tanaka’s fame.
The pair is said to be avoiding one another since Carey’s birthday trip to Cabo in March.
They first got together shortly after Carey’s engagement to James Packer went down in flames in October. The relationship was a focal point of Carey’s E! docuseries, “Mariah’s World.”
A rep for Carey didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
