Kim Kardashian and Kanye West hire surrogate for third child
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expanding their family.
The parents of North West and Saint West want to have a third child, so they’ve hired a surrogate, People reports.
After welcoming Saint, Kardashian spoke candidly on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” about wanting a third baby, but doctors had diagnosed the E! reality star with placenta accreta, which meant a third pregnancy would pose an extremely high risk. Placenta accreta is when the placenta grows in the wall of the womb, making it difficult to detach during birth.
Her doctors later informed her after surgery on her uterus that carrying again would be too difficult.
“Not only has this been really painful, but now hearing that I can’t carry any more kids, it couldn’t get any worse,” she said on a recent episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” “I mean, f–k, like I really tried everything and I really want this and it’s just not going to happen for me.”
While coming to terms with her pregnancy struggles, Kardashian, 36, said she and West would turn to surrogacy to meet their needs.
“After talking to Kanye, I think that I always knew that surrogacy was an option, but I didn’t think it was that realistic of an option,” she admitted. “Now, I feel like that’s my reality.”
A rep for Kardashian did not immediately return a request for comment.
