Mika Brzezinski ‘can’t go forward’ with Weinstein book deal
Mika Brzezinski says she won’t write books for Harvey Weinstein‘s publishing house as long as the alleged serial sex-harasser works there.
And two more senators are giving away Weinstein campaign donations as the backlash continued from an expose of the movie producer’s reported scandalous mistreatment of actresses and other women who worked for him.
“I have a three-book deal with Weinstein Books, through Hachette. I can’t go forward with those books unless Harvey resigns,” the “Morning Joe” host tweeted Saturday morning, calling on others to follow her lead.
“Authors, actors, and moviemakers should not work for any Weinstein company until he resigns. Not a close call,” she insisted.
Sen. Al Franken, a Minnesota Democrat, said he would give campaign donations from Weinstein to the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who represents Massachusetts, said she will give the $5,000 she received from Weinstein for her 2012 Senate campaign to a charity.
