Woody Allen told Kate Winslet she’d ‘hate’ his script
When Kate Winslet was offered a role in Woody Allen’s latest film, “Wonder Wheel,” the director didn’t exactly make it sound like an offer she couldn’t refuse.
Winslet said in a Q&A, doing her best Allen impression: “He goes, “Well, I have a script that I wrote and, you know, you’re probably going to hate it — and if you don’t want to do it you can just go on and have a more fulfilling life. But I really think it could be a tour de force for you, and I think you should have a read . . . and you’re probably going to hate it.”
She instead says that she found the project “brilliant,” although her character “is nothing like me.”
