Harry and Meghan to wed in May at Windsor Castle
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry at Windsor Castle in May, palace officials said Tuesday.
The pair, who announced their engagement Monday, are to exchange vows in St. George’s Chapel on the castle’s grounds, according to NBC News.
The chapel is near and dear to Harry’s heart.
He was christened in the chapel, and it also is where the body of his late mother, Princess Diana, was laid out for a week before her funeral at Westminster Abbey. Harry and his older brother, Prince William, paid their respects to their mum in private there at the time.
Before she weds Harry, Markle must be baptized in the Church of England and then “confirmed” in the faith — both of which she has agreed to do, royal officials said.
Markle is a divorced Protestant. The Church of England is Anglican.
