Mariah won’t be missing sound check at NYE rehearsal this year

Mariah Carey will be doing a full sound check before her New Year’s Eve performance to prevent another monstrous meltdown after last year’s lip-synching debacle.

Sources tell Page Six that Carey is returning to redeem herself on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest,” and this time the diva isn’t taking any chances after failing to sound check last year.

She’ll be back at the exact same moment, just before the ball drops in Times Square.

Host Jenny McCarthy told Variety that “one of the most exciting news stories about New Year’s Eve is giving Mariah Carey that second chance that I think everybody deserves.”

Or perhaps what she really means is that they hope Mariah will give their show a “deserved” ratings boost from those tuning in to see if the diva hits the right notes the second time around.
