Timothée Chalamet and Ansel Elgort argue over who was the more popular teen

Former LaGuardia High School classmates Timothée Chalamet and Ansel Elgort can’t agree on who was the bigger teen heartthrob.

Asked by MTV who was more popular during their time at the famed New York performing arts school, the two Golden Globe nominees’ answers couldn’t have been further apart.

“Timothée. Timothée was so popular,” Elgort, 23, told the network.

“Ansel had a calendar with him in it!” Chalamet, 22, replied. “Are you kidding me? How could I possibly have been more popular?”

Chalamet, who stars in “Call Me By Your Name” and “Lady Bird,” also pointed out that Elgort was a fixture in the school’s musical productions, while he was forced to fend for himself making rap videos for the internet. But it was the “Baby Driver” lead who made the most convincing point, pointing out that one of the two stars was clearly more well-liked among their classmates.

“No one disliked Timmy,” he said with confidence. “Some people disliked me. Everyone loves Timmy.”
