Kim Kardashian’s rules for her surrogate
Kim Kardashian isn’t as much of a control freak as one would think.
In a revealing interview with Elle, the reality TV maven says she had few demands for her surrogate, whom she and Kanye West hired through an agency to carry their daughter Chicago West, who was born in January.
Despite her relaxed attitude, Kardashian, 37, requested the baby be born in Los Angeles, “where all my babies were delivered, and for [the surrogate] to use my doctor,” she said.
The mom of three also wanted her carrier to eat organically, “which is just how she eats, so it was a good match for us,” she added. “I straight-up told her, ‘Look, I ate doughnuts every single day. If you want doughnuts and ice cream, go for it. Do whatever you feel.’ I’m not going to be picky like that. That’s just ridiculous.”
Throughout the pregnancy, the pair regularly attended doctor’s appointments together. And despite suffering from placenta accreta — a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall — in her two previous pregnancies, Kardashian wishes she could have done it one more time.
“I hated being pregnant,” she said. “But as much as I hated it, I still wish I could have done it on my own. The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody.”
