Erika Jayne almost gave birth on the 6 train

Erika Jayne is a real New Yorker at heart.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 46, revealed in her memoir “Pretty Mess” that she was so broke in her 20s that she had to take the 6 train to the hospital while in labor with her son, now 25.

“I told Tommy to go get a cab to take us from our apartment downtown all the way up to New York Hospital on the Upper East Side,” she wrote. “‘But in Lamaze class they said that you should walk around,’ he told me. ‘Just get me a cab!’ I said, freaking out a little. ‘No, we’re broke and you need to walk around,’ he insisted.”

“We walked to the 6 train station at Wall Street and took that for what seemed like an eternity to the hospital. No one got up and gave me their seat even then. I was in labor on f–king public transportation.”

Tommy’s birth went off without a hitch, but she only stayed married to his father, Tom, for a short time after. She remarried famed lawyer Thomas Girardi in 1999 and wrote that she fell into a “wealthy coma” after they tied the knot.
