Dolce & Gabbana couture commandeers NYC

Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana is showing couture for the first time ever at numerous iconic New York City locations over the next few days.

The glamorous schedule of events, hosted by the dynamic design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, kicks off Friday evening with an exhibition of their Alta Gioielleria (high-end jewelry) at the New York Public Library followed by a dinner and charity auction led by Sarah Jessica Parker.

On Saturday, the focus moves to the scenic Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center for a men’s couture, Alta Sartoria, show, followed by a secret performance and afterparty.

The drama reaches a crescendo on Sunday when D&G will stage its Alta Moda women’s couture in lavish style at the New York Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center, followed by an elaborate seated dinner on the actual Met Opera stage.

If that wasn’t enough, the celebrations will continue in classic Italian style at the Standard Hotel’s Boom Boom Room on Monday, April 9, with another performance and revelers partying into the early hours of Tuesday.

Finally, on Wednesday the fashion crowd will descend on the brand new D&G Soho Mercer Street boutique for the last show and performance. Then we sleep.
