Carrie Underwood can cry pretty indeed.

Underwood, 35, took the stage at the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday, where she performed her new single, “Cry Pretty.”

After her rousing rendition of the song, Underwood got teary onstage as the audience gave her a nearly minute-long standing ovation.

Later, when she accepted the trophy for Vocal Event of the Year for her duet with Keith Urban, “The Fighter,” a tearful Underwood told the audience, “I’m still kind of shaky right now!”

It was the “American Idol” alum’s first public appearance since getting 40 stitches in her face after taking a nasty tumble in November.

She also broke her wrist in the accident.

Underwood showed her face only partially or from afar in the months leading up to her big comeback and advised fans that she might “look a little different” following her surgeries, though no one was really able to detect even an inkling of a scar or other sign of her injury.

“Physically, I’m doing pretty darn good these days,” the singer wrote on her blog in the days leading up to the show. “My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90 percent there … and the docs say that last 10 percent will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while.”
