Lea Michele thought she had to give engagement ring back

To say Lea Michele was taken aback by her engagement to Zandy Reich would be an understatement.

“I was so surprised,” the “Scream Queens” star said during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Wednesday. “I kept saying, ‘Stop joking around, stop joking around!’ I keep thinking it’s borrowed and I have to give it back at some point.”

Michele, 31, revealed Saturday boyfriend Reich had popped the question. She posted a photo of the 4-carat sparkler on Instagram, which Reich designed with Leor Yerushalmi and The Jewelers of Las Vegas.

Fellow “Watch What Happens Live” guest Bethenny Frankel later confirmed the fairy-tale proposal took place in the Hamptons.

“Still on cloud 9!” Michele gushed Tuesday on social media.

Reich, the president of women’s apparel company AYR, was first linked to Michele last year.

“Last year, in this same spot, on this same day, you told me 30 was going to be the best year of my life.. it was,” Michele posted in August. “So much to be grateful for, but mostly you.. got a feeling 31 is going to be even better… ❤ u Z.”
