Kristen Stewart walks barefoot at Cannes to protest flat-shoe ban

Kristen Stewart made a statement against the Cannes Film Festival’s controversial flat-shoe ban.

The actress arrived at the “BlacKkKlansman” screening in a pair of Louboutins, then whipped her heels off and climbed up the red-carpet steps barefoot.

“Heelgate” kicked off in 2015, when a group of women wearing flats were banned from a screening of “Carol”; the festival insisted heels were obligatory for women at red-carpet screenings, sparking some pointed responses from actresses.
