Ariana Grande defends new song about Pete Davidson
Ariana Grande doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her new song “Pete.”
Over the weekend Grande previewed a snippet from a song on Instagram, later revealing on Twitter that it’s from a tune titled “Pete.” Some fans praised the singer for putting out a song about her new fiancé, Pete Davidson, but others were quick to criticize, calling her “crazy” and “dumb,” which she didn’t take lightly.
“the truth is ☕ i been the f–k thru it and life’s too short to be cryptic n s–t about something as beautiful as this love I’m in,” she tweeted. “So ǝʇǝԀ it is.”
Though her forthcoming album, “Sweetener,” was mostly written during her previous relationship with Mac Miller, it’s clear she’s updated it to include an ode to “Saturday Night Live” star Davidson.
The headline-making couple got engaged earlier this month after only a few weeks of dating. They also may have already found their own love nest, as Grande shared a picture of SpongeBob Squarepants to Instagram with an eyebrow-raising caption.
“Us in our new apartment with no furniture 1 speaker and red vines,” she wrote.
It doesn’t look like anything will slow these two down.
