At 5 years old, North West stars in her first fashion campaign
At 5 years old, North West is already following in her mom’s stiletto-clad footsteps.
Italian luxury brand Fendi has released the second installment of its #MeandMyPeekaboo fashion campaign in honor of the 10th anniversary of the brand’s signature Peekaboo bag. And this time around, the photo project — which celebrates iconic women who are related — features Kris Jenner, 62, her daughter Kim Kardashian, 37, and Kardashian’s little girl, North.
For the campaign, the multi-generational reality TV stars posed for a series of candid family photos in Los Angeles.
“In the case of the Kardashians,” the brand’s accessories creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi told Women’s Wear Daily, “they are all three of them very strong women, with strong personalities. It’s an iconic family, who is known for its appearance, but we wanted to bring more of an intimate side to the table.”
She also emphasized that this collaboration was a natural fit for Fendi given the close friendship she’s maintained with Kardashian’s rapper-turned-designer husband, Kanye West, since his days interning for the fashion house in 2009. Fittingly, the campaign’s images will be accompanied by a short film soundtracked to West’s “Love Lockdown,” scheduled to debut on Fendi’s website on July 10.
Though North may just be starting school, posing for the camera is already old hat for the mini fashion plate, who at the age of 13 months made her solo modeling debut wearing Chanel in the pages of CR Fashion Book and prior to that appeared in Vogue as an infant in the arms of her famous parents.
