Pete Davidson addresses Ariana Grande breakup rumors
Rest at ease, #GrandSon fans.
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are still together after rumors swirled Monday that they’d called off their engagement. Davidson took to Instagram story to clarify some rumors.
“No there’s nothing wrong. No nothing happened. No there’s nothing cryptic about anything. I just don’t wanna be on Instagram anymore. Or on any social media platform,” Davidson, 24, wrote. “The internet is an evil place and it doesn’t make me feel good. Why should I spend any time on negative energy when my real life is f–king lit. The fact that I even have to say this proves my point. I love you all and I’m sure I’ll be back at some point. 🙂 your neighborhood goon, Pete”
The “Saturday Night Live” star’s message came after fans started speculating that there could be trouble in paradise. Grande, 25, had turned off her Instagram comments and also cryptically tweeted, “The energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves.”
Grande also shared on Snapchat that she’s back to using the app because there’s “no negativity” on it.
Davidson also had wiped his Instagram clean with an exception of his story.
The “Set It Up” actor’s choice to back off of social media is also a page out of Grande’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller’s book, as he said in an interview that he’s avoided any online interactions since their split.
“It just all seemed kind of unimportant you know — the need to show people I was OK,” Miller said. “I can find any story I want about myself. I used to look at my phone, scroll through Twitter and Instagram and get my ego stroked and destroyed in the five minutes every morning, you know what I mean? But with everything that happened, it was just too much.”
