New mom Cardi B baby-proofs her nails

Mommy-shamers, take note: Cardi B is not giving up her infamously long nails now that she’s a new mom, but rather adjusting the shape for practicality.

Though typically seen with inches-long acrylics that are often embellished with rhinestones of all shapes and sizes, the 25-year-old rapper has pared her look after the birth of her 3-week-old daughter with husband Offset, Kulture Kiari Cephus.

“Ok so if you noticed i changed my nail shape from pointy to square so i won’t hurt my baby,” Bardi tweeted on Tuesday. “I’m thinking about only changing my pinky nail shape back to pointy so i can take my babies little boogers out 🤔.”

Fans quickly responded with pictures of their own manicured hands with the same setup — long, squared tips with a pointed pinky nail — and advised her to simply make sure her hands were clean. Others, however, pointed out that “there are tools for that.”

Cardi has been vocal about the trials and tribulations of raising a newborn without a nanny. Last week, the artist dropped out of her tour with Bruno Mars to “recover mentally and physically,” admitting that she “underestimated this whole mommy thing.”
