Canadian export Justin Bieber is applying for US citizenship

The wedding prep continues: Justin Bieber is going to become an American citizen.

Bieber, an Ontario native — who sparked rumors of a secret wedding with fiancé Hailey Baldwin on Friday — is applying for dual citizenship so he will retain his Canadian citizenship, according to TMZ.

The 24-year-old has been living in the States since he was 13, but just bought a $5 million house in Canada.

Applying for citizenship is another legal logistic for the husband-to-be as Baldwin, 21, and the singer received their marriage license this week.

After they were spotted at a Manhattan courthouse multiple outlets reported that the couple who got engaged after weeks of dating were married.

But the young model took to Twitter to shut down the rumors.

“I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” she said.
