Soon-Yi Previn to break silence on Woody Allen-Mia Farrow family drama

Soon-Yi Previn to break silence on Woody Allen-Mia Farrow family drama

New York magazine has become the latest battleground in the war between Woody Allen, and Mia Farrow and her children.

Page Six has learned that the famed magazine is getting ready to publish a blockbuster piece giving the perspective of Soon-Yi Previn — who was adopted by Farrow and then married Allen — on the scandals that have torn the former family apart.

And we’re told Farrow’s daughter, Dylan Farrow — who has accused Allen of molesting her when she was 7 (a claim that Allen staunchly denies, while an investigation found that he didn’t sexually assault her) — is outraged by the upcoming story.

According to people familiar with her thinking, Dylan believes the writer was hand-picked by Allen because she’s sympathetic to him. The piece — expected to be on stands Monday, and on the magazine’s Web site as early as Sunday evening — has been penned by Daphne Merkin, a pal and avowed admirer of the filmmaker.

Dylan’s camp points to passages from Merkin’s 2014 book, “The Fame Lunches,” in which she says that she wrote a fan letter to Allen, they developed a correspondence, that he supported her while she was suffering from depression and encouraged her as a writer. She says they spent time together and stayed in touch off and on.

But a rep for New York magazine told us, “Soon-Yi Previn is telling her story for the first time, and we hope people will withhold judgment until they have read the feature,” adding, “Daphne Merkin’s relationship to Woody Allen is disclosed and is a part of the story, as is Soon-Yi’s reason for speaking out now.”

We’re told that Dylan’s nervous about the story because her camp claims the magazine reached out to her to fact-check the story after it was written, rather than Merkin coming to her for an interview at the outset.

Sources close to Dylan say that Merkin’s piece is only expected to include a short quote from Dylan.

The scandal has been given new life of late because of the #MeToo movement, and especially because Dylan’s brother Ronan has been a leading journalist in the movement.

Dylan gave her first interview about her allegations in January, and since then another of Mia’s adopted children, Moses, has spoken out to defend Allen.
