Steve Wynn flaunts $215M super yacht at Monaco boat show
Scandal-hit Steve Wynn is showing off his gleaming $215 million super yacht Aquarius at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show – which kicked off Wednesday night with a glam gala graced by on-again couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.
Wynn’s 92-meter (302-foot) behemoth is the biggest boat docked at Port Hercules for the fancy show opened by Prince Albert on Wednesday. Wynn’s watercraft features a bar and lounge at sea level, located under the glass-bottom pool.
It isn’t clear if Wynn is just showing off his luxury sea craft for admirers or floating it for potential buyers after he was hit with allegations of sexual misconduct, which he denies.
Further out at anchorage (which means too bloody big to park in the port) is the sleek, 110-meter (361-foot) Jubilee, which features a helipad, spa, beach club, pool with a huge fish tank and over 2 kilometers of LED lighting to make it look even bigger from shore.
Last year, it was reported to be the most expensive yacht available for sale in the world and the only one in “turn-key” condition, according to breathless brokers, making it the ultimate prize for high-net-worth individuals. Jubilee reportedly was commissioned by the late emir of Qatar, Khalifa bin Hamad al-Thani, in 2012.
Following his death in October 2016 at 86 (a year before Jubilee was completed), the yacht was put up for sale for $323 million. Sheikh Khalifa had five sons and 12 daughters from four wives, so we’re not sure who gets to take the helm.
Also offshore is the 95.2-meter (312-foot) motor yacht Kismet, with a weekly charter rate of around $1.29 million, owned by billionaire Shahid Khan — who also owns Fulham football club and the Jacksonville Jaguars — and has been chartered by Beyoncé and Jay-Z. She has a multi-level swimming pool, basketball court and helipad. Monaco Yacht Show organizers are boasting that this year, the hardware is the biggest haul ever — with an average length of attending motor yachts at 51.5 meters (169 feet), considerably larger than the last three years’ average of 49.5 meters (162 feet), according to Superyacht Times, and the gross tonnage is up 15 percent from the last three years.
Naturally, the show of gas-guzzling sea craft graced by the international jet set was kicked off with a charity gala to save the oceans.
On Wednesday night in Monte Carlo, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene hosted the lavish event, attended by stars including Perry and Bloom (in their first red carpet appearance together), a myriad of models including Alessandra Ambrosio, and Toni Garrn, Tommy Hilfiger, Nile Rodgers, plus the “hot felon” Jeremy Meeks with Chloe Green.
