Scooter Braun ‘frustrated’ after Ariana Grande bails on event before Pete Davidson split
Scooter Braun was none too pleased with Ariana Grande on Saturday when she pulled out of an event last-minute.
The “Pete Davidson” singer was slated to perform at the F–k Cancer Gala in L.A. on Saturday, where Braun’s wife, Yael Cohen, was receiving an award.
“Someone I’m very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she’s going through, she couldn’t be here today,” Braun said of Grande (via E! News). “And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, ‘She needs this time.’”
Instead, the gala had “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah fill in with a standup comedy performance.
It turned out that Grande had canceled her appearance just one day before she and Pete Davidson called off their engagement. It also marks her second event cancelation, as she was scheduled to appear on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” but dropped out for “emotional reasons.”
It’s been a turbulent year for Grande, who’s still reeling from the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, and a terrorist attack on her Manchester concert that killed more than 20 of her fans.
