Prince Harry ‘grateful’ Prince Charles walked Meghan down the aisle

Prince Harry is “grateful” his father, Prince Charles, stepped up to the plate and walked Meghan Markle down the aisle back in May.
In a snippet of the upcoming BBC documentary, “Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70,” Harry recalls asking his father to fill the shoes left by Markle’s father, Thomas, who was unable to attend the wedding for health reasons.
“I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you,’” Harry, 34, said (via People). “For him that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us.”
When Markle, 37, and Charles, 69, reached the alter, Harry quietly said “Thank you, pa,” to his father.
“You’ve gotta say thank you,” said Harry. “Just because he’s my father that doesn’t mean I can just sort of go, ‘Okay, that’s all, I’ll take it from here.’” He then added he was “grateful” for his father in that moment.

The couple’s wedding was watched all over the world. Every detail was scrutinized by the millions of viewers – including the tender moment in which Charles took Markle’s mom Doria Ragland by hand to sign the wedding resister.
Charles’ wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, recalled it all saying, “A lot of people, seeing my husband actually take the bride’s mother by the hand to sign the registry, it’s something that moved everybody.”
She added, “It’s the things he does behind the scenes that people don’t know about. I don’t think people realize quite how kind he is.”
