Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist was once too busy to work with her
A beauty empire that almost wasn’t.
In an interview on the Overnight Success podcast, Kim Kardashian‘s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic explained how the pair first met after he initially turned down the opportunity to work with her.
“My friend Sebastian was doing a shoot for a Social Life magazine cover and he called me and was like, ‘Hey, can you do this girl, her name is Kim Kardashian, she has a show on E! which is coming out, can you do it?'” he recalled. “I said no because I had to do some of the anchors at Fox [News].”
But his friend was persistent. “He was like, ‘Please please please, you’ll be perfect for this job, you’ll be perfect.'”
So after some quick thinking, Dedivanovic said, “I called Fox to make it later and went to meet Kim. She walked in, she was so sweet and I fell in love with her face. Aesthetically, for me, she’s like the idea of beauty, I’m so attracted to her face, she’s gorgeous.”
Continued the beauty pro, “I did her makeup in my usual style and she really loved it and asked me to go shopping with her after the shoot so she could buy everything I used on her and take it to her makeup artist in LA so they [could] do it over there.”
The rest, as they say, is history. “She started working a lot after that and she kept requesting me for everything,” Dedivanovic explained. “I started traveling with her and that was how it all happened.”
A match made in makeup heaven.
