Prince Harry opts out of royal tradition to please Meghan Markle

Prince Harry is standing in solidarity with wife Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex is reportedly bowing out of the royal family’s annual pheasant shoot due to Meghan’s fondness for animals, according to the Daily Mail.

The move has raised a flurry of eyebrows, with one royal insider alleging the rift between Harry, 34, and Prince William continues to grow.

“William sees this as another concerning example of his brother being pulled away from his family by his new wife,” an insider told the Sunday Mirror. “Harry’s always loved hunting and it has provided them with a great chance to bond as brothers.”

Although William, 36, has reportedly “voiced doubts” about Meghan, 37, to his brother, the former “Suits” actress remains Harry’s number one priority.

“He hardly ever misses the shoot but he loves her so much,” a source said.

Harry and Meghan, who are expecting their first child this spring, have already made it their mission as newlyweds to break with tradition. In November, Kensington Palace confirmed the couple would be moving to Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle early next year.

“Windsor is a very special place for their royal highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate,” the palace said in a statement.

Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in May.
